TWO of the Lake Garage Central Lancashire League Championship’s early pace-setters are preparing to go head-to-head on Sunday in the third round of fixtures in this year’s competition (1.15pm).
Werneth will host Monton and Weaste at The Coppice in a clash of two sides who have yet to taste defeat.
After an opening-day success against Radcliffe, Werneth backed-up last Sunday with a revised-target derby win at Crompton.
Royton will be looking to bounce back to winning ways as they travel to Ashton.
After a derby win against Oldham on day one, Royton then slipped up in a rain-affected clash at Unsworth.
Oldham are quietly confident of breaking their duck when they host a Radcliffe side who have also lost both their opening two games.
Crompton head to Unsworth on the back of that unfortunate home derby loss to Werneth last weekend.
