FOOTBALL: THERE will be a new name on the honours list as Crompton House Old Boys and Rifle Range ‘A’ meet in the final of the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League Challenge Cup at Boundary Park on Thursday (7pm).
It has been a remarkable first season in the league for Crompton, who went straight into the Jack Abbott Premier Division and have managed to hold their own.
Range, whose last appearance in the final was almost a decade ago, start as clear favourites.
Range manager Leon McGuirk, who played in the 4-1 defeat at the hands of Orb in 2004, has named a 16-man squad.
Scott Rowbottom will miss the final due to injury.
Paul Graham will take charge of the final, with John Molloy and Ian Claridge the assistant referees.
