Copp smash five in extra-time

FOOTBALL: COPPICE United ‘A’ scored five goals in extra-time against Fitton Hill as they booked their place in the final of the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division Shield.
Coppice prevailed 6-1 after the scores had been locked at 1-1.
On target were Danny O'Connell (two), Faisal Khaliq, Shabbir Ali, K Ahmed and Steve Barrow.
In the other semi-final tie, Limeside King George edged out Crompton House Old Boys 5-4 as Heap scored a hat-trick and Stafford added two goals.
Schofield and Caffrey scored two goals each for the Old Boys.
David Giblin Division One Shield semi-final action saw Failsworth Athletic beat Anglers 3-2 thanks to goals from Niall Sultan, Reece Lyndon and Tom Wood.
Paul Collins and Mark Simms netted for Anglers.
Luke Mack bagged a hat-trick in FC Dynamos’ 4-2 win against Willow Tavern.
Line made up Dynamos’ tally, with A Nolan and Nik Lishman registering for Willow.
In the last four of the Martin Buckley Division Two Shield, Carrion Crow won a goal-fest 8-6 against Royton Athletic, while Summit Inn beat Coppice United ‘B’ 2-1 with efforts from Ellis Lishman and Shaun Hill.
Zahib Yacub replied for Coppice.
The only Jack Abbott Premier Division clash saw Legends Bar edge our Famous King George by the odd goal in nine.
Oldham GPO thumped Rifle Range ‘B’ 4-0 in David Giblin Division One, thanks to goals from Peter Kessell, Thomas Siwka, Lee Cumpsty and Damian Hirons.
AVRO and Springhead remain in fourth and fifth places respectively in the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division table.

THE first of the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League showpiece finals took place last night and it went all the way to a penalty shoot-out.
Crompton House Old Boys and Rifle Range ‘A’ contested the Challenge Cup final at Boundary Park and after a tense 90 minutes and extra-time, neither side could find a goal.
A penalty shoot-out followed and Rifle Range prevailed 4-3 to take home the trophy.
