CRICKET: DELPH begin the defence of the Sykes Cup tomorrow as they host Drakes Huddersfield League Conference outfit Armitage Bridge in a first-round match that starts at 1pm.
Grant Jones’ men heroically won the Sykes Cup for the first time last year and will be fancied to get their defence off to a flying start.
Delph beat Marsden and then lost to Elland in their two league clashes last weekend.
WOODHOUSES face a Lees Brewery Lancashire County League double-header this weekend as they look to build on last weekend’s commanding opening-day victory at Cheetham Hill.
Woodhouses host Prestwich tomorrow, then travel to Denton on Sunday.
Both matches start at 1pm.
