THEY may have had to wait for three weeks to break their duck in the Lake Garage CLL this season, but Crompton and Oldham certainly did so in style.
Both won on Saturday — and again on Sunday.
Exuding confidence following victory at Ashton 24 hours earlier, Oldham succeeded by four wickets at Unsworth.
The hosts were bowled out for 136 and, despite the odd worry along the way, Oldham replied with 138 for six.
Crompton demolished bottom club Ashton at Glebe Street in a match which resulted in a personal triumph for Danny Taylor.
The bowler took five wickets the previous day against Radcliffe, but here he claimed eight victims for just 33 runs as Ashton were blasted out for a paltry 62.
Crompton replied with 63 for four to make it maximum points for the weekend.
The big local derby at the Paddock saw Royton defeat leaders Werneth by six wickets thanks to an unbeaten 100 from on-fire overseas amateur Chris Hutchinson.
