Legends are champs

FOOTBALL:
LEGENDS were crowned champions of the Jack Abbott Premier Division last night as a 2-2 home draw against Rifle Range ‘A’ gave them the point they needed.
Leighton Stephenson’s double strike did the job for Legends.
Elsewhere, Gareth Hill bagged all five goals when Crompton House Old Boys beat Red Star 5-0.
Failsworth Athletic clinched promotion as they won their David Giblin Division One decider at rivals Oldham GPO 2-0. Danny Allott and Niall Sultan fired Athletic into the Premier Division.
Attention then turned to Martin Buckley Division Two, as Carrion Crow beat Westwood 2-0 in a championship play-off clash. On the mark were Daniel Fitzhugh and Callum Beckett.
AFC OLDHAM did the town proud by lifting the Lancashire and Cheshire League's Rhodes Cup with a 2-1 victory over Eagle FC at Altrincham's Moss Lane ground.
Andy Walker set Oldham on their way with a 36th-minute strike, before Dominic Hallam doubled the advantage just past the hour mark. Eagle responded with 15 minutes left.
A NEW football team, based at the White House, Oldham Edge, is on the look-out for players.
