PETE ROBERTS . . . return to Uppermill.
CRICKET watchers face an early wake-up call to catch the start of Moorside’s LCB Cup tie at home to Ramsey on Sunday.
Because the visitors need to catch a ferry home to the Isle of Man later in the day, the first-round clash gets under way at 10am.
Hollinwood and Heyside are also in LCB Cup action.
The former play host to Northern (Liverpool Competition), while the latter visit Wythenshawe (Manchester Association).
The pick of tomorrow’s league fixtures sees reigning champions Bamford Fieldhouse go to last year’s runner-up, Uppermill.
Without a win in their opening five games, two of which ended in draws, the hosts finally got off the mark for the season thanks to a comprehensive victory over Whalley in the LCB Cup on Bank Holiday Monday.
They have also been boosted by the signing of Pete Roberts from Bamford. It is a case of back to the future for the all-rounder, who spent most of his early years at Leefields and will again team up with his brother, David. Pete is ineligible for tomorrow’s match because of the seven-day transfer rule.
