FOOTBALL: RIFLE Range ‘A’ won the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division runners-up spot for the third year running thanks to a 1-1 draw against Limeside King George.
A late equaliser from long-serving marksman James Curley handed Range the draw they needed, as they ended the season five points behind champions Legends Bar.
King George had dominated the first half and took the lead in the 23rd minute through Wayne Ware.
Range steadied the ship in the second half and after a flurry of shots and chances, it was Curley who beat the King George goalkeeper after sneaking past the last defender.
RIFLE Range FC will be looking for new players for all their teams this summer. Anyone interested should contact Paddy McGuirk on 07731 988894.
Range currently have three teams playing in the Oldham Sunday League.
G Hill bagged a hat-trick as Crompton House Old Boys drew 4-4 against Famous King George ‘A’.
J Hill also struck, while Schofield (two), Clarke and Jackson were on the mark for King George.
Paul Collins was the hero as his solitary strike fired Anglers to glory in the David Giblin Division One championship play-off decider against Failsworth Athletic.
THERE were goals galore at Chadderton FC on Tuesday night as Limeside King George won the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League President’s Trophy in terrific style.
The Limeside lads prevailed 5-2 in a cracking final against Famous King George ‘A’ as Liam Cashmore (two), Leon Melia, Chris Robinson and Wayne Ware were on target.

HUDDERSFIELD League Division Two outfit Heyside rounded off their season with a 4-0 home win against Holmfirth Town.
Cup exploits arguably cost Heyside promotion by just two points as they finished in third place.
Carl Taylor and Jason Titterington scored two goals apiece against Holmfirth.
