Friarmere duo dig deep
Date published: 24 May 2013
CRICKET: NO one can question Friarmere’s steely determination after the club’s second XI rescued a seemingly hopeless situation in the Moore Cup.
The first-round tie appeared to be heading Hollinwood’s way after they reduced the hosts to 78 for eight in the 25th over, in reply to 182.
The match was all over 58 balls later, and unbelievably Friarmere was the team celebrating a two-wicket win thanks to the stubborn efforts of Waqar Ahmed (47 not out) and Gul Bahar (42 not out).
