Harper on high after medal haul

ATHLETICS: SHARON Harper, of Oldham and Royton Harriers, picked up three medals at the Greater Manchester Track and Field Championships.
The highlight was gold in the discus at 21.91 metres, while she claimed silver in the hammer (26.38m) and bronze in the shot put (8.18m).
Harriers clinched a one-two in the hammer as team-mate Melanie Lee bagged gold with 31.05m.
In the under-20s 800m, Jack Brown was a fine fifth in two minutes, 9.53 seconds.
On the roads, Daniel Timperley recorded 20:51 in the latest event in Alexandra Park.
He was followed by Niamh Boulton in a new personal best of 22:48, Sara Bott 25:10 and Jake Holt 28:53.
At the South Manchester park run, Anne-Marie Lord equalled her personal best with 21:07.
Lindsey Rudd set a new PB, going under 25 minutes for the first time in 24:45, and Abbie Webb crossed the line in 29:24.
At the Ian Casey 5k race in Whitworth, Owen Flage claimed an excellent second place in 17:48, with Jake Holt (19:32) 19th.
