So far, so good for Deakin’s Saints

RUGBY: OLDHAM St Anne’s are on track to achieve their goal in National Conference League Division Two.
“Our aim was to finish in the top four and we are fourth at the moment,” said coach Chris Deakin.
Saints reach the half-way mark of their league campaign at home to second-in-the-table Widnes West Bank tomorrow (2.30pm).
And Deakin added: “They pose a physical threat, but I’m sure we can match them in the forwards.
“We have got a tough run of matches coming up. After Widnes we have a free week, but then it is Normanton, who are top, Leigh East followed by Shaw Cross Sharks.”
WATERHEAD were pushed all the way by bottom club Stanley Rangers most recently, so must raise their game for the visit of fifth-placed Bradford Dudley Hill tomorrow (2.30pm).
Play-maker Mick Diveney is free to play — he is waiting for disciplinary hearing — but Mitchell Birch and Carl Sneyd miss the NCL Division One game.
SADDLEWORTH Rangers make the short journey to Rochdale Mayfield tonight (7.30pm).
Coach Emmerson Jackman will not want a repeat of their last Division One encounter — a humbling 70-0 loss at East Leeds.
Despite languishing at the foot of the table, Rangers are close enough and possess games in hand over their nearest rivals to move out of the drop zone.
