Bragging rights likely to provoke plenty of Whit

WALKING WOUNDED . . . Hollinwood bowler Shakir Hussain is recovering from a blow to the eye.
CRICKET: A WIN will mean that bit more to clubs in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League this weekend.
Two wins would be even better.
The traditional Whit derby double-headers got under way today, with Greenfield hosting a Saddleworth outfit smarting after being dumped out of the Tanner Cup by Uppermill.
Sent packing for just 89, it was only the second defeat of the season for Brian Lord’s side.
Greenfield, on the other hand, chased down Stayley’s 254 to book a place in the quarter-finals.
While all eyes were on Ladhill Lane today, attention switches to Well-i-Hole tomorrow.
Heyside are the clear form pick over Shaw.
Five league victories out of six have given Ben Holt’s men a commanding lead.
Over-confidence could get the better of Heyside — but with so much experience it’s hard to envisage.
Hollinwood’s Lime Lane ground was akin to ‘Emergency Ward 10’ last Saturday.
Fayaz Khan sustained a suspected broken finger, Shakir Hussain was smacked below the eye after the ball went through his hands and skipper Shakeel Saddique pulled a hamstring.
All three are desperate to play against Bamford, although the skipper is unavailabl.
Uppermill have saved their best for the cups so far this season — two wins from two but none in the league — and they will need to be on their ‘A’ game against Friarmere, who are unbeaten in three.
It is difficult to know what to expect from inconsistentMoorside.
This weekend they face Austerlands, who are in good spirits after defeating Glodwick in the Tanner Cup.
The match-up between Droylsden and Glodwick is too close to call, while something will give when Micklehurst meet fellow winless side Stayley.
DELPH face two crucial Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership clashes over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Tomorrow Grant Jones’s third-placed side head to Kirkburton, who are in sixth, for what promises to be a tasty clash.
On Monday they will hope to make the most of hosting a Hoylandswaine side who are currently rock-bottom of the table.
Both matches start at 1.30pm.
IN-FORM Woodhouses play only once this weekend, at home tomorrow against struggling Stand (1pm).
