Green Final glory chase

THE 2013 Green Final Bowls Handicap gets under way tonight with action at four venues.
Eight players at each green will bid for a place on finals night which, for the first time in the competition's history, will be held at Moorside on July 6.
Two former winners are in action at Stanley Road - Dave Carpenter (1997) and Garry Coverdale (2010).
Draws will be made before play at all four venues, practice is from 6.30pm and matches start at 7pm.

TONGE closed the gap on Manchester Premier League leaders St Joseph’s when they registered a
12-1.5 (202-124) home victory over the King and Queen, Warrington.
Winners for Tonge were Darren Griffiths (21-6), Jimmy Derby (21-7), Steve Squire (21-8), Matt Gillies (21-9), Thomas Dobson (21-10), Gary Ellis (21-12), Chris Cooke (21-17), Colin Lane (21-17) and Graham Hickey (21-17).
Tonge are away to the Nursery Inn, Stockport, next Wednesday (7.30pm).
