GLODWICK are up to third place in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League after four wins in a row.
Their latest victim was leader Heyside who in contrast, were beaten for the second week in succession.
Glodwick displayed determination to reach 240 for eight from 45 overs at Warren Lane.
Heyside, with skipper Ben Holt, Ryan Barnes and Scott Bloor unavailable, were dismissed for 194. Paid man Gerrie Snyman made 87, but he had little support, Danny Cashin's 36 apart.
Second-placed Bamford Fieldhouse cut the deficit to 16 points courtesy of an emphatic 10-wicket defeat of Friarmere at Hollin Lane.
Pro Grant Hodnett, with 75, and top amateur Josh Tolley (55) steered home the reigning champions after Babar Khan's six for 35 helped bowl out the visitors for 132.
Greenfield were also in a clinical mood as they swept aside Stayley for 123.
In reply, openers Chris Gill and Liam Parfitt carried their bats for 58 and 56 respectively.
Paid player Stephan Grobler struck his highest score in the league, 163, as Moorside piled up 304 for three at Hollinwood. Captain Lloyd Kingston also put 54 on the board.
The home side were skittled out cheaply, managing just 83 with Glen McFadyean grabbing four for 49.
Adam Young, the Austerlands captain, was in the runs as well, but his unbeaten 101 was in vain against Saddleworth.
The Nursery Fields outfit were grateful to the right-hander's contribution in an overall total of 165 for eight.
Saddleworth got home for the loss of six wickets, Lou Adair making 44. Saddleworth are now joint third with Glodwick, 25 points adrift of Heyside.
Uppermill were in a hurry against Shaw at Leefields. The visitors were restricted to 148, with James Baron's left-arm spin accounting for five of the wickets to fall for 38 runs.
He then blitzed 51 not out from only 22 balls as Uppermill reached their target in 16.1 overs. Pete Roberts, back at the club after a spell at Bamford, weighed in with an unbeaten 40.
Zahir Khan took seven for 48 in Micklehurst's score of 75 at Oakfield. The home side lost three wickets before clinching a comfortable victory.
