Brown’s silver boost

ATHLETICS: CHRISTOPHER Brown was in super form as he secured a 800m silver medal when representing the Oldham town team at the Greater Manchester Schools’ event at Stretford.

Brown won his heat in two minutes, 4.1 seconds, before grabbing silver in the final in 2:01.9.

He was pleased with that as his training team-mate won the race and he is a year older.

Brown has now earned selection to represent the Greater Manchester team tomorrow at Birmingham in the Inter-Counties competition.

After that he will be notified if he has made it on to the English Schools’ team.
