NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: THERE is a renewed air of optimism in the Oldham Boro camp after Tony Mills’ men enjoyed a terrific second half of last season.
Looking in trouble in fourth-bottom spot in the North-West Counties League First Division table before Christmas, a switch in focus on the coaching front certainly did the trick as Boro ended the 2012-13 campaign in eighth place – their highest league finish in five years.
Manager Mills said: “The introduction of new coach John Lynch at Christmas, as well as the return to the backroom staff of Andy Whiteman, was a really positive move for us.
“Their ability to interact with the players was one of the reasons we finished so high.”
Every registered player has re-signed for Mills to stand the club in good stead ahead of the new campaign
