DRAKES Huddersfield League Sykes Cup holders Delph are out of this year's competition.
Yesterday Grant Jones' side was sent crashing out at the quarter-final stage as hosts and current League Premiership leaders Shepley batted first and racked up an imposing 291 all out.
Delph's best bowler as the fielders toiled was Matt Norvall who returned four for 72.
In reply, Delph could only manage 143 all out as Luke Hargreaves top-scored with 28.
Saturday was a happier day back at base as Delph cruised to victory in their league clash against Hall Bower.
Batting first, Delph clocked up a superb 342 for seven as Irfan Zahoor smashed a brilliant 137, with professional Kevin Hook adding 65 and Graeme Simpson 56.
Hall Bower were then skittled out for just 109 in their reply as Norvall and Arron Lilley claimed four wickets apiece.
Tomorrow night, Delph travel to take on Golcar in the All Rounder Twenty20 competition (6.30pm start).
WOODHOUSES were dumped out of the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League Walkden Cup at the last eight stage yesterday.
Inserted first at league high-fliers Prestwich, Woodhouses were sent tumbling to just 44 all out as Carl Hey led the way for the hosts, taking four for just 16.
Prestwich then cruised to their victory target without losing a wicket.
It was a different story in the league action on Saturday for Woodhouses, who claimed an excellent victory away at sixth-placed Dukinfield.
Woodhouses batted first and had Simon Cormie is mean mood as he batted fluently throughout to score 102 not out in a total of 212 for seven.
The hosts never really kept up with the required run-rate in reply and were eventually bowled out for 184.
