Rivals on collision course

FOOTBALL:
CHADDERTON and Oldham Boro are to clash in one of two North-West Counties League knock-out competitions.
The draws were made at the annual meeting in Blackpool, and in the League Challenge Cup first round, Boro will host Chadderton at their Alder Street home in Atherton on Saturday, October 5.
The prize for the winners of that game is a home fixture in the second round, against Premier Division Ashton Athletic on Saturday, October 26.
The First Division Challenge Cup draw saw Boro and Chadderton handed byes into the second round.
Boro will then host Ashton Town, while Chadderton must travel to either Eccleshall or new Staffordshire-based club, Hanley Town.
Those ties will take place on Saturday, November 23.
