A minute’s silence in memory of Stuart Howarth was held before yesterday’s CLL game between Crompton and Oldham.
Stuart (62) was chairman of Crompton Cricket Club and died last Wednesday when his car ploughed into a cemetery wall on Salts Street after he reportedly collapsed at the wheel
Pat Howard, Stuart’s cousin, said: “Our Stuart was a lovely man and a true friend to me and my family.
“His support has always been invaluable.
“I know he was also loved and respected by all his friends at Crompton Cricket Club, which was like his
second home. He will be greatly missed by all of us who had the privilege to know him.”
