Delph close in on last eight

DELPH are homing in on a quarter-final place in the Drakes Huddersfield League All Rounder Twenty20 competition.

Last night Grant Jones’s side eased past Holmfirth to wrap up a second straight group stage victory, with one game left to play.

Batting first, Delph clocked up 165 for five in their 20 overs as Faisal Butt scored 41 and Irfan Zahoor 35.

Fifteen-year-old Daniel Jones then took three for 13 as Holmfirth were all out for just 79.
