Angling: STEVE Hall’s incredible run continues with two wins on the trot in the Diggle AC evening series of matches on Tanner’s Dam.

Drawn on favourite peg 13, Hall fished his usual chopped worm and caster for 39lb 12oz of silvers and carp.

Organiser Dave Machin (Fibrecare) drew in the deep water on peg six, where he fished pellet and meat for a second-best 20lb 13oz that consisted of three carp and 15lb of skimmers.

Hall was a clear winner at Diggle’s Tuesday match as he dominated with chopped worm and caster tempting 51lb 12oz of skimmers and carp.

Ian Cox drew 13, where he connected with 34lb 8oz of skimmers and carp, netting himself second place

SUNDAY saw me fishing the Slaithwaite AS open match on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

My draw on permanent peg 86 put me in an area I hadn’t fished before, but I decided on a positive approach. An hour later no-one had had a bite in the whole of the section. I tried various lines and baits and eventually caught five small roach. I fed finely chopped worms in four areas of my peg and caught a few small perch and skimmers that took my weight to 1lb 3oz and fourth place.

Stu Campbell (Trabucco Halifax) took first with 3lb 2oz.

SHAUN Paddon (TRI-CAST Highfield) is on an amazing run at the moment. He has won five matches on the trot and picked up more than £500 in four weeks.

In the J&B open match on the Morrisons length of the Rochdale Canal he triumphed with 2lb 5oz of tiny roach taken on squatt fished at various lengths.

In the Bridgewater Canal open on the Trafford Centre length, Paddon put in a superb performance for 4lb 5oz of roach.

MARK Eaton-Dykes continued his good run of form, netting himself another victory in the latest Cranberry AC match fished on Partridge Lakes Marsh Pool.

His maggot-fished shallow approach netted him a fantastic 50lb 7oz of small carp - beating his father Steven into second place on 32lb 10oz.
