Coach Sands targets upset

RUGBY: WATERHEAD expect to field a strong side against table-toppers Wigan St Jude’s tomorrow, with coach Andy Sands emphasising his men “have nothing to fear”.
“We played them at their place and they only just beat us,” he said, referring to the Peach Road club’s 34-26 loss a month ago. There is no need for us to be apprehensive about anything.
“You look at their result two weeks ago when Eccles beat them (28-26) at their place; it shows it can be done.”
That game was St Jude’s second loss of the season. Waterhead have suffered defeat in eight of 14 games.
Elsewhere in the division, Saddleworth Rangers’ new coach Shane Tupaea kicks off his role at the Greenfield club with an away-day at Milford Marlins (2.30pm).
Milford are going well, sitting fourth in Division One, and the Leeds-based outfit promise to be a tough nut to crack.
Oldham St Anne’s are in action tonight at Leigh East in Division Two (7.30pm). Chris Deakin’s men were looking to get their Division Two promotion push back on track, against a team with four victories to date.
