OLDHAM stars Jessica Fullalove and Jessica Lloyd were both in the medals at the British Gas Swimming Championships at the Ponds Forge Arena in Sheffield.

Sixteen-year-old Crompton House pupil Fullalove was in excellent form as she brought home three bronze medals after going head-to-head against plenty of top class senior talent.

A time of 28.82 seconds secured City of Manchester Aquatics ace Fullalove third place in the 50-metre backstroke final, while two lengths of the pool completed in 60.48 seconds — a new personal best — was enough to bag a bronze medal in the 100m backstroke event.

To cap a superb weekend, Fullalove also made the podium in the 200m backstroke event thanks to a time of two minutes, 10.59 seconds.

Proud mum Suzanne said: “Jessica was just outstanding throughout the weekend.

“To perform so well, and to return home with three medals, was unreal really.

“Don’t forget she was competing at in the senior level events, alongside girls with lots more experience than her.

“We were so delighted that lots of hard work paid off so handsomely.”

Hopefully Fullalove’s next major event will be the World Junior Championships, which take place in Dubai next month.
