Old pal Khiljee stands in Delph’s way

DELPH will come face-to-face with an old pal tomorrow as they travel to Shelley in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership.
Shelley, who sit in 10th place in the table, boast the talented Bilal Khiljee in their ranks, the former professional at Delph.
Khiljee has enjoyed a productive season so far, while last weekend will have undoubtedly been one of mixed emotions.
On Saturday Khiljee cracked a ton against Hoylandswaine, only for his side to then succumb to a 10-wicket defeat.
Another 10-wicket mauling followed at the hands of Elland 24 hours later.
It’s been a week of mostly good news for Grant Jones’s Delph.
With the target still a tilt at the Premiership title, they lost to Honley last Saturday before thumping second-placed Golcar the following day.
They still slipped from fifth to sixth place in the standings, before Arron Lilley’s memorable 173 not out off 75 balls on Tuesday at Marsden sealed a placed in the quarter-finals of the All Rounder Twenty20 competition.
Tomorrow’s match starts at 1.30pm.
WOODHOUSES are in need of a victory fillip in the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League.
They hung on to fifth place in the table last weekend despite an eight-wicket defeat against Woodbank, and tomorrow they head to fourth-placed Glossop for a potentially-tricky assignment.
The match starts at 1pm.
