THE National Superstock 1000cc championship’s round six at Snetterton proved a frustrating but eventually rewarding weekend for Oldham ace Ashley Beech.
Two weeks ago, Beech and Team JD Racing had a successful test day at the circuit to establish a base set-up on their race bike — but everything changed on race day, when soaring temperatures required major changes both before and after qualifying.
Despite improving his lap times, Beech could only manage 39th and started from the back row.
Further adjustments were made in a last-ditch effort to improve things and paid off: Beech made his best start of the season, overtaking five riders before the first corner and over 14 laps moving up to finish 21st.
The team has two weeks to sort out its issues before the next round at Brands Hatch on July 21.
