Home start for Mossley

FOOTBALL:
Steve Halford’s Mossley enter at the preliminary round stage of this year’s FA Cup on AUgust 31.
The Lilywhites have a home tie against either Worksop Parramore (Baris Northern Counties East League), or AFC Blackpool - 10th in the North-West Counties League Premier Division last season.
If Mossley make progress, they will have another home match in the FA Cup first qualifying round against Cammell Laird or Salford City.
Laird beat Mossley in the Evo-Stik Division One North play-off semis at the end of last season, while Halford’s men got the better of Salford in the 2013 Manchester Premier Cup final.
The first qualifying games are on September 14.
In the FA Trophy first qualifying round, Mossley have been drawn at home to either Lancaster City or New Mills on October 19.
Mossley begin their pre-season campaign of fixtures next Monday with a trip to Chadderton.
Tony Mills’ Oldham Boro, who get their pre-season friendly fixtures under way this weekend at local outfit Santos, have been drawn at home to new club 1874 Northwich in the FA Vase first qualifying round on September 7. If Boro win they will be at home to either Abbey Hey or Congleton Town a fortnight later.
Chadderton, who travel to Lancaster City on Saturday for a pre-season game under new boss Steve Patterson, have a bye into the Vase second qualifying round. On September 21 they will travel south to Alsager Town.
