Barlow toasts new course record

GOLF: A MONTH after Louisa Brunt set a new course record at Ashton, Susan Barlow has bettered it by one shot.
A stunning round of golf featuring an eagle, three birdies, 12 pars and two bogeys saw the five-handicapper post a three under par 70, nett 65.
Not surprisingly, Susan won the Bunty Booth qualifier from the girl who held the previous best.
Louisa Brunt fired a 74 - nett 70 - to finish clear of third place.
But the runner-up still had cause for celebration when she was crowned the Lancashire Girls Under-15s champion.
Playing 36 holes at Ashton and Lea, near Preston, the teenager recorded a one over par nett total.
