Grant puts the hammer down again
Date published: 12 July 2013
GOLF: BROOKDALE assistant professional Grant Hamerton (right) continued his sparkling form in the PGA Lancashire Bill Beaumont Classic at Hillside.
Hamerton, winner of the Pleasington Pro-Am the previous week, shared the top prize with Mossock Hall’s David Shacklady after both shot two-under-par 70s.
Shacklady’s score included a seven iron-inspired hole-in-one at the 149-yard seventh, while Houghwood’s Barry Taylor emulated that feat when his five iron found the cup at the wind-against 153-yard 10th.
Taylor finished third on 73.
