RUGBY:
BETH Sutcliffe’s dream of Women’s Rugby League World Cup glory has been shattered.
Thirty-year-old Sutcliffe, from Chadderton, has represented England in both its pool fixtures - an opening 14-6 defeat by Australia and a 34-16 defeat by champions New Zealand.
The two southern hemisphere teams will now meet in the final at Leeds’ Headingley Carnegie stadium on Sunday.
England – after facing France tonight in their final pool fixture – face France again on Saturday in the play-off for third and fourth places.
