Tunnicliffe seals cup-final berth

FRIARMERE and Saddleworth will fight it out for the Moore Cup on Sunday, August 11.
A two-wicket defeat of visitors Austerlands, who made 161, sealed Friarmere’s place in the final of the Saddleworth and District Cricket League’s second XI knock-out competition.
In the other last-four tie, Saddleworth (216) overcame Heyside in a thriller at Well-i-Hole.
Ben Tunnicliffe, who stands at 6ft tall, claimed a catch high above his head at mid-on to dismiss
last-man Alfie Clarke with Heyside requiring four runs for victory.
Steve Taylor was Saddleworth’s main performer with 43 and four for 46, while Steve Firth scored 74 in Heyside’s innings of 213.
