Non-league football: PETER Band has drafted in Lloyd Morrison to join him in managing Mossley FC.
New joint boss Morrison (41) had spent the last 12 months in charge at North-West Counties League side Winsford United where he led his charges to a fourth-placed finish last season, just four points behind champions Padiham.
He also guided them to success in the Mid-Cheshire FA County Cup where they beat Northwich Victoria in the final.
Morrison is noted for his playing contacts on the North-West non-league scene and Band — who took over from the departing Steve Halford last week — is delighted to have him on board.
Band said: “I’ve known Lloyd for a long time, we work close by each other in our day jobs and he has impressed me both as a person and as a manager.
“He has great contacts in the game and he will attract some quality players to the club.
“I’m really looking forward to working alongside him.”
Mossley’s latest pre-season friendly fixture takes them to new North-West Counties League side Bacup and Rossendale Boro tomorrow.
The match kicks-off at 3pm.
CHADDERTON and Oldham Boro are also in friendly action tomorrow.
Chadderton host AFC Liverpool, while Boro travel to local Bury outfit Radcliffe Town. Both games start at 3pm.
