CRICKET: DELPH survived the loss of early wickets as they defeated Holmfirth in the Drakes Huddersfield League.
Requiring 110, the hosts slumped to 19 for three and then 68 for five.
But unbeaten knocks from Graeme Simpson (38) and Jamshad Ahmad (24) saw their side to a six-point win and kept alive their outside hopes of the title.
Delph all-rounder Arron Lilley, who made his LV= County Championship debut for Lancashire in midweek, made 28 and took four for 14 from 8.5 overs.
WOODHOUSES lost by 37 runs at Prestwich in the Lancashire County League.
Sam Holden compiled a superb 136 not out and David Garner made an unbeaten 66 to lift the home team to 246 for six.
Woodhouses were restricted to 206 for six in reply, which earned them a point for their efforts.
