Druggitt card so costly

RUGBY: THE dismissal of Warren Druggitt proved costly as Waterhead were beaten 36-8 at home by Dewsbury Celtic in Division One of the National Conference League.

Druggitt was given his marching orders for alleged punching.

Waterhead did well in the first half: Ryan Knight and Ashley Wildman both scored tries as they trailed Celtic 14-8, at which stage the match was in the balance.

But playing with 12 men in the second half was too much for the side, which conceded 22 points.

SADDLEWORTH Rangers remain firmly rooted in the relegation zone after they lost 46-8 at leaders Wigan St Judes.
Shane Tupaea’s side did go in front through a Mick Coates penalty, but the hosts stormed back to lead 16-2 at the midway point.

Coates was successful with a conversion after the break as he improved an Adam Jeffrey try.

But Rangers were unable to halt the St Jude’s juggernaut.
