ALL SMILES . . . Oldham Netball Club under-15s.
NETBALL: OLDHAM Netball Club’s under-14s and under-15s made it a double at the Yendys tournament in the West Midlands.
The younger age group came from behind to record a stunning 11-5 victory with a strong second-half display.
In the group matches, Oldham swept aside Ryland 19-1 before beating Oaksway, Ribble, Barr Beacon, Parkside and Imagine 8.
Bury were their opponents in the semi-final, but they could not halt Oldham’s progress in a 10-1 scoreline.
The under-15s, who in May were crowned under-16s national champions, finished the season unbeaten.
They cruised through the early rounds at Yendys and the Oldham coaches rotated the squad throughout the day to keep the girls fresh for the final stages.
Tameside were beaten in the last four, and in the final Oldham had to play at their peak to overcome another North-West club, Trafford, 12-8.
