It’s all pointing North in cup competitions

GOLF: NORTH Manchester have their eyes on a cup double after the semi-final matches in the Oldham and District Golf League.
Their ‘A’ team team beat local rivals Blackley 4-1 at Saddleworth, while the ‘B’ team went one better by whitewashing Werneth 5-0 at Stamford.
The Rhodes-based club will meet Ashton in the ‘A’ final after they edged out Saddleworth at Blackley, while it’s Stamford who will oppose the ‘B’ team after they toppled Crompton and Royton at North.
Two rearranged league games in the ‘A’ Section East Division saw Werneth go top after a 5-3 win at Crompton and Royton while North were held 4-4 at Oldham.
Werneth, though, will be hard pressed to stay in the top two play-off spots as they finish the season with away games at Blackley and Oldham.
