CRICKET: REIGNING champions Bamford Fieldhouse could be expelled from the Versasteel Saddleworth and District Cricket League tonight.
Delegates representing the 13 other clubs in the competition will vote on their banishment from the end of the season. The result will be decided on a straight majority.
Member clubs have been told the special general meeting follows Bamford’s “continued flouting of the rules”.
The monthly meeting, at which the league’s constitution is decided for 2014, will take place immediately afterwards at the same venue of Uppermill CC.
BEN Holt’s appeal against a ban stretching to the end of season 2014 will be heard next Tuesday.
In the match against Stayley on June 22, the Heyside skipper abused an umpire, failed to control his players and harassed an umpire after the game.
Holt’s appeal will be heard at Uppermill CC by three senior officials from other clubs. He was handed a four-match ban by Heyside after the incident.
