HIT MAN . . . Delph’s Faisal Butt has the ability to inflict plenty of damage.
CRICKET: GRANT Jones isn’t concerned at the prospect of Delph having to travel to Hoylandswaine for Sunday’s Drakes Huddersfield League All Rounder Twenty20 Cup final (4pm).
Delph lost the toss for home venue, but club skipper Jones shrugged off any disappointment.
Jones will miss the final due to other commitments, but his side will travel high on confidence.
“They’re a good side, but so are we,” said Jones. “We’ve proved that throughout this competition.
“We’ve got seven or eight bowlers who can do damage. It’s the same with the batting — we bat deep into the order.
“Our team is full of match-winners this season so we’ve every right to go there confident.”
Also missing will be talented all-rounder Arron Lilley. He will be playing in the county Twenty20 competition at Nottinghamshire
Delph, who visit Scholes in the Premiership tomorrow, have been in terrific form throughout this year’s T20 competition, topping their qualifying pool, beating Clayton West in the quarter final and last year’s winners Scholes in the semis.
WOODHOUSES face a double fixture weekend in the Lancashire County League.
The Medlock Road outfit, who are fifth in the table, are at home to third-bottom Denton tomorrow and visit mid-table Roe Green on Sunday.
