THE race for play-off places in the Oldham and District Golf League has gone down to the wire.
With the final round of league matches this week, the make-up of the top two in each of the four divisions is still undecided.
Dukinfield and Ashton are in pole position in the ‘A’ Section East Division, but both face tricky away ties and could be caught by Stamford.
In the West, Werneth slipped from top to third behind North and Blackley after a 6-2 defeat at the latter, but with all three clubs away from home it is going to be close.
Stamford have run away with the ‘B’ Section East Division, but nothing separates Ashton and Dukinfield, both nine points in arrears, and Dukinfield might just have the edge with a home game to come.
It’s tight in the West in which Blackley take on Brookdale at home knowing they trail by just two points as they both hunt down leaders North Manchester.
