CRICKET: DELPH will be bidding to bounce back to winning ways tomorrow as they get back into Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership action.
Last Sunday there was disappointment when Delph – who were missing skipper Grant Jones and Lancashire all-rounder Arron Lilley – lost convincingly to Hoylandswaine in the final of the All Rounder Twenty20 competition.
Tomorrow they return home when Kirkburton provide the opposition for a potentially intriguing fourth-versus-third clash.
Delph leapt a place in the standings last Saturday after they edged to victory at Scholes.
Kirkburton, meanwhile, lost to second-placed Elland last weekend.
Tomorrow’s game starts at 1.30pm.
WOODHOUSES host Denton St Lawrence tomorrow in the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League (1pm start).
Mike Cassidy was in super form last weekend for the Medlock Road side as he struck 115 not out against Denton, but they still lost by five wickets on an ultimately frustrating day.
They remain in fifth place in the table, with the Saints – who beat Cheetham Hill last time out – a place below Woodhouses in sixth.
