KO final glory in Tara’s sights

SNOOKER:
TARA ‘A’ will concede home advantage to Rileys SC in tomorrow night’s Manchester Snooker League knock-out final.
The three-man Tara outfit defeated the same club’s ‘B’ team 4-2 in a tense semi-final played at the Shaw snooker centre.
Each player had a two-frame contest against his opponent and it was Michael Wild who gave the ‘A’ team a flying start with a 2-0 defeat of Mick Webb.
Mick Dickinson shared the frames against Josh Cooper in the next game, leaving Reece Kershaw to steer the ship home for the ‘A’ team.
However, when opponent Geoff Hill won the first frame, Kershaw needed to dig deep to get the ‘A’ team over the winning line. This he did, but only on the final pink.
Tomorrow’s showdown, which gets under way at the Belle Vue club at 7.30pm, is a repeat of last year’s final - which Rileys won.
