Late tries in vain as Rangers slip-up

RUGBY:
AFTER taking the prized scalp of promotion-seeking Hunslet Warriors, Saddleworth Rangers were unable to follow-up at Bradford Dudley Hill.
Shane Tupaea’s side slipped to a 44-10 defeat - which leaves plenty of work still to do to avoid the drop from National Conference League Division One.
Adam Jeffrey and Chris Conway registered late tries for Rangers, while the latter also added a goal.
Waterhead have also been dragged into a relegation scrap. Their latest defeat, 54-22 at home to Rochdale Mayfield, has left the Peach Road club fifth from bottom.
The dismissal of Ryan Knight, who had earlier scored two tries, didn’t help. Waterhead trailed 22-16 at the break but fell away in the second half, with only touchdowns from Jamie Mayall and Martin Sarsfield to show for their efforts.
Mayall also kicked two goals and Alex Jobson one.
