Bobby dazzler for Heywood

HEYWOOD skipper Bobby Cross lifted the John Willie Lees Wood Cup last night after his man of the match display in the resumed final against Walsden.
Cross hit an unbeaten 88 to guide Heywood to victory at Crimble.
Walden had posted 163 for nine, but Heywood – despite a mid-innings collapse which saw them lose three wickets in four balls – held firm thanks to Cross and Andy Dawson (35).
The match started on Sunday, but was hit by early-evening rain which washed out play for the day. More bad weather followed on Monday and it took the next two nights to settle the issue.
