DELPH’S Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership title ambitions may be fading, but they will be keen to hang on to their current second place in the table.
Shepley look odds-on to win the big prize as they are 18 points clear of Delph with just eight matches of the season remaining, but the Huddersfield Road outfit are in form and will hope to cement their potential runners-up spot with a maximum points victory at sixth-placed Hoylandswaine tomorrow (1.30pm start).
A 54-run victory against Kirkburton last Saturday propelled Delph up two crucial places in the table, as they made the most of Elland’s seven-wicket reverse at, ironically, Hoylandswaine.
WOODHOUSES slipped down the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League table to seventh last weekend when they were well beaten by Denton St Lawrence, but tomorrow they have a good chance to bounce back when they travel to stuttering Stand.
Stand were skittled for a meagre 42 by Roe Green last Saturday, as the hosts’ bowler Andy Hough took eight wickets for just eight runs.
