GOLF:
NORTH Manchester Golf Club remain on target for a clean sweep of the silverware in the Oldham and District Golf League.
With their appearances in the ‘A’ and ‘B’ Cup finals already assured, the two sides have now claimed places in the league play-off finals after 6-2 victories over Dukinfield and Ashton respectively.
The ‘A’ team awaits the winner of the Stamford v Blackley clash tomorrow night, while the ‘B’ team will meet Stamford after overcoming Blackley.
Due to a fixture issue, the league’s cup finals – North Manchester v Ashton in the ‘A’ Cup and North v Stamford in the ‘B’ Cup – will both take place at Werneth on Sunday (2pm and 3pm).
THE league season was completed when Saddleworth ‘A’ beat Denton ‘A’ 6-2 in a rearranged fixture to lift the Mountain Ash club off the bottom and finish fourth in the East Division.
