It’s victory or bust for Delph

CRICKET: DELPH host Drakes Huddersfield League table-toppers Shepley tomorrow in what will surely be the last chance to keep alive their fading title hopes.
After last weekend’s contrasting results, Delph – who are now joint third in the table with Kirkburton – are 23 points adrift of Shepley with only seven games of the 2013 campaign remaining.
A defeat tomorrow would see Delph’s hopes evaporate for another year, while Shepley would edge closer to title glory.
Last weekend, Shepley were forced to battle hard for a three-wicket win at Elland, where Dan Wood top scored with 72.
Delph, meanwhile, were thumped by 183 runs at Hoylandswaine.
Tomorrow’s game at Huddersfield Road starts at 1pm.
WOODHOUSES face a Lees Brewery Lancashire County League double-header this weekend.
Tomorrow, clear league leaders Denton West visit Medlock Road, with the hosts facing a tough task after sliding to seventh place following a 63-run defeat at Stand last weekend.
Woodhouses may fare better on Sunday as they travel to second-bottom Stretford.
Both games begin at 12.30pm.
