In their last three CLL fixtures, Oldham have conceded over 400 runs against Royton and Werneth, and been bowled out for 31 by Crompton.
That Royton game, which ended in a 207-run defeat, featured a superb knock of 192 from Paddock
professional Ben Dunk, who will be hoping for more of the same on Sunday in his last game before heading home to play for Tasmania.
More immediately, Oldham go to Monton and Weaste tomorrow to face a team difficult to beat at home.
Royton warm up for Sunday’s derby with a home game against in-form Unsworth.
Werneth will clinch promotion if they beat Crompton at home tomorrow when the visitors must find a way to dismiss Coppice paid man Mohammed Zaman Khan, who has hit an unbeaten double hundred and century in his last two innings.
Werneth go to Radcliffe on Sunday, while Crompton host Monton and Weaste.
