GLORY BID . . . Nicola White.
Hockey: OLDHAM star Nicola White is geared up ahead of England’s opening game of the TriFinance EuroHockey Championships tomorrow morning.
Head coach Jason Lee’s 18-strong squad of athletes has trained hard this week in Antwerp, Belgium, as 2009 winners England prepare for their Pool B match against Spain.
Leicester forward White and her colleagues then face world-ranked fifth side Germany – current EuroHockey champions – on Sunday, before their group stage fixtures conclude with an all-British clash against Scotland on Tuesday.
White is among nine London 2012 bronze-medallists in Lee’s squad and headed to Belgium high in confidence having performed so well at the recent Investec World League Semi-Final tournament in London.
