RUGBY: OLDHAM St Anne’s ‘A’ maintained their promotion aspirations with a 24-22 win at Crosfields in Division Three of the North-West Men’s League.
Saints had the better of their opponents in the first half, running in three tries through Callum Deakin, Gary Mason and Luke Makin, with Ryan O’Donnell adding a trio of conversions.
It was a totally different game in the second half, though. The Warrington outfit hit back with a pair of converted tries before a Jack Marsden score and O’Donnell conversion.
Crosfields set up a tense finish with a converted try, but Saints clung on for a vital victory in the race for Division Two.
