Title joy for Royton youngsters

CRICKET: ROYTON CC have won the CLL Under-15s Division with a final victory against runners-up Middleton.

They will be receive the Oldham Evening Chronicle Cup at the divisional play-off on August 31.

The Royton team contains a powerful batting line-up: opener Jack Snape scored more than 300 runs over the season, while captain and fellow opener William Sandiford-Mitchell and Aaron Tesz both hit over 200.

The team’s real strength was its bowling attack led by pace ace Tesz, who took more than 20 wickets.
