CRICKET: DELPH made up for a wash-out against Hall Bower on Saturday by comfortably seeing off Golcar in the Huddersfield League Premier Division.
Kevin Hook led the way with 46, Faisal Butt hit 44 and skipper Grant Jones was 32 not out in Delph’s total of 211 for nine against Golcar.
Jamshad Ahmad then took four for 41 in Golcar’s reply, with Matt Norvall chipping in with three for 37 to help bowl out Delph’s opponents for 166.
On Saturday, Delph had to settle for two points as not a ball was bowled at Hall Bower following rain overnight and in the morning.
WOODHOUSES’ poor run of form continued in the Lancashire County League as they were beaten at home by Dukinfield. Batting first, the Medlock Road club were dismissed for 138, with the visitors achieving victory for the loss of three wickets.
